Crazy Cute! Tutu
30 of January 2009

Little Tutu is a papillion. I think a shih tzu must have gotten into the mix somewhere. She is the tiniest dog I groom. She probably weighs 3 pounds. She is a very active dogs and has problems keeping mat-free. These are her many looks.

Helpful Hints from the ASPCA
Forbidden Chocolate
Seasoned pet lovers know the potentially life-threatening dangers of chocolate, including baker’s, semi sweet, milk and dark. In darker chocolates, methylxanthines—caffeine-like stimulants that affect gastrointestinal, neurologic and cardiac function—can cause vomiting/diarrhea, hyperactivity, seizures and an abnormally elevated heart rate. The high-fat content in lighter chocolates can potentially lead to a life-threatening inflammation of the pancreas. Go ahead and indulge, but don’t leave chocolate out for chowhounds to find.

How old is Fido?

To Calculate Your Dog’s Age:
The old formula for obtaining the age of your dog was to multiply every year of a dog’s life by seven human years. But that’s not accurate. A dog is full grown at twelve months, which would be age eighteen in human terms. From this point on, to calculate the true age of your dog, figure that every dog year is the equivalent of five human years. Thus a ten-year-old dog is sixty-three years of age in human terms.
~excerpt from Fun Facts About Dogs
This would be pretty acturate for medium size dog. But, size does matter: smaller dogs live longer than larger dogs. So, consider the life expectancy of that breed. Maybe, 7yrs for big and 3 or 4yrs for little.

Empathy

A good groomer will understand the limits of your beloved pet and work with them rather than against them. As a dog ages it suffers from decreased mobility and stamina. Cleanliness and easy maintainence replaces high style.

What a cutie! He is so sweet and mellow. You can see his tail is blurry, cuz he was wagging it. They said he was a poodle mix. I think he is more likely a Dachshund Maltese mix. He eyes were a beautiful brown and loved to be held.

Clients who know me, Know I am bias toward std poodles.
The “man of my life” was a Standard Poodle. I LOVE them. Here’s my boy Nicoli. (He passed away suddenly Nov 3rd 2008.) He was my traveling dog. I took him on my vacations because he was so well behaved and I didn’t have to worry about him being carried off for a snack. I loved his cute little butt. That is why I always loved to put him in a continental haircut every spring. Like his haircut in this painting.
